Why I have Stood the Way I Do

The Spoken Word is the Original Seed

To All My Friends, Good Morning!

I bring you Good Tidings of great joy in the message this morning, to show you why I stand the way I do. Being my friends, I feel I owe you an explanation... why I seem to be a stranger and a pilgrim like Abraham to you. And what is the great tidings I bring? Yes, The Spoken Word is the Original Seed! And if a man plants wheat, he expects to harvest wheat, only more of it! Hallelujah! and if God sowed His Word in the beginning, He expects to harvest nothing less than the very Word in likeness and image, only more of it! And if you be the children of that Word, then in you will be displayed the character, nature, likeness and image of the Word! So, the end time church is the church of the harvest of the Word, a super race whose members are the very harvest of the Word, even the manifested sons and daughters of God!

Hallelujah! Today I bring you glad tidings of good things, rich and stocked high. What is it? The Spoken Word is the Original Seed! You harvest what you sowed. And God in the beginning sowed the Word, and that Word is Jesus Christ, then during the harvesting dispensation, how do you expect Him to harvest anything else but more of the same Word!

When Adam sowed his seed, he harvested more like himself, that is his race called human beings -- Wanadamu [children of Adam]. And when Israel sowed his seed, he harvested more of the same, Israelites, that is children of Israel. Then God sowed His Son, called the Word, in Genesis, and it germinated and brought forth the stalk (blade) among the servants of God in the Old Testament; followed by the tassel and shuck through the New Testament adopted sons. Lots of difference between your actual children and the ones you adopt! So, in the Day of the Lord, the crop of the Word fruits bringing forth the very Word-born children. And if the Word is God, then every child of God is a god. A child of a man is a man, so a child of God by His Word is a God! The Super Race! Who are they? Children of the Word!

So, I say unto all my friends, Good Morning friends, friends of the Word! A friend of the Word is one with the Word! He and the Word are one! A corn of wheat, when planted, brings forth more corns of wheat! So, the Word of God, when planted, brings forth more of that same Word. Those are the members of the prophesied super race... As the herald preached that morning, what but he was channeling forward the very Spoken Word, the Original Seed, for the end time harvest!

So, that morning, the forerunner addressed his friends thus:

Now, to all my friends both here and wherever these tapes may travel, I feel that I owe an explanation to the people of many things that I have said and done. So many times people have come to me and said, “Our pastor says, ‘Why would you do that, Brother Branham? Why did you say this? And what makes you do it this a-way?’” Now, with all my heart, everything that I have done, I have done it with the best intention I know how. And everything that I have said I have said it from my heart. And I have done it for a purpose; and I will try this morning, by God’s help, to explain from the Bible the purpose and why I have done it.

To my brethren: even though that you might have disagreed with me much because of my stand towards what I think to be right (and you have a right to disagree with me as you may see it different) but I hope that by the help of God this morning, I will be able to show you the reason why I have taken this stand.

Many times I have scolded churches, denominations, the dressing of women, the acting of men. I think I have thoroughly supported that by Scripture. And never one time, God knowing my heart, have I ever had a bad feeling towards anyone. No matter if they disagreed with me as far as the east from the west, I still loved them. And as long as I have the Spirit of God in me, I will always love His people. No matter what they do, or how they treat me, that won’t have anything to do with it. I still love them.

There is the perfect fruit of the Word! Love! Love that loves even the enemy! There is the begotten of God, the Word in character, nature, image, and likeness. God's love Son is His Seed, and he brings forth a race like Himself! And one dominant character in all who born of the Word is the pure expression of love divine.

No matter if they disagreed with me as far as the east from the west, I still loved them... There is the Character of Joseph, Jacob's son of his love! There is the fruiting and ripening of Moses in Deuteronomy! The fruit of divine love manifested. There is the character of Daniel, a man greatly beloved, loving his enemies though they hate him. There is the character, nature and image of Jesus the Word of God, who offered his life upon the cross to save even his enemies! There is the fruit of divine which John the apostle of love preached. And in the harvest time, all the fruits of God will express pure divine love.

They are all the children of God's love. Divine love is the character of the Spoken Word, even the Original Seed. Now, notice, every creature is born from some kind of love affair, be it man or beasts or creeping things. All things bear their children by the sowing of some seed of some kind of love, which expresses their pleasure. So, they bring forth that which is pleasing to them. The very act of the sowing of their seed is an affair of some kind of love. The very children born from such affairs, grow and mature displaying the very love in which they were conceived! Thus, God also has His Seed of love, divine love, and He sows it in divine love affair... how did you feel the time you got saved... Oh... dear me! Love like honey from the rock went tripping from your heart!

The Son of God, the Word of life, the Seed of His love, and in that love He brings forth His sons and daughters. Just like Joseph to Jacob, like Daniel before Darius, and like John the apostle to Jesus, so is the Son of God to His Father.

And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. Luke 3:22  There is the beloved Son of God, who is the Spoken Word, the Original, in whom God has pleasure, holy and pure! What is the dominant Character of Jesus Christ the Word of God? Just as in Joseph, in Deuteronomy, in Daniel, and in John and his books, it is divine love!

Sown in Abraham, putting on the blade in Isaac, the ear in Jacob and fruiting in Joseph! Those are figures of the Word. There we go!

Sown in Exodus, putting the blade in Leviticus, the ear in Numbers and fruiting in Deuteronomy Moses' book of divine love. There you are!

Sown in Isaiah, putting on the blade in Jeremiah, the ear in Ezekiel and fruiting in Daniel, a man greatly beloved! Hallelujah!

Sown in Matthew, bringing forth the blade in Mark, the ear in Luke and finally fruiting in John the beloved apostle of Jesus Christ -- a man whose every breath and pulsation of heart was love, love, love! Glory to God! You can't miss to see the lineup. Oh, what a rely! Just four by four rely!

Abraham hands to Exodus, Exodus to Isaiah, Isaiah to Matthew... The Lion's ensign getting clearer and brighter all the time. Isaac hands to Leviticus, Leviticus to Jeremiah, Jeremiah to Mark... The Calf ensign, a sacrifice whose blood atones for every sin, right their in Jesus Christ!

Jacob hands to Numbers, (Jacob a man of few days and full of trouble, Numbers a book of trouble), Numbers hands to Ezekiel, a man of the four ensigns like Jacob and also in Numbers; and Ezekiel hands to Luke the beloved physician... Oh, the great Physician is near, the sympathizing Jesus... there in Luke as a man touched with all the troubles of man! Hallelujah!

Finally, Joseph takes the stick! wewe-e! Be quiet, be still and know that I am God... There he goes, through all thorns and bruises into slavery in Potiphar's house, still leading! Out of slavery under the law, he descends further into the very prison-house of death, and takes captivity captive, arising with gifts. He slips through the seven years in prison and finally takes the seventh seal and rips it through, coming on with seven plentiful years of the seven thunder Gospel. There He goes, unbeatable!

The fathers of Genesis hand over to the servants of the Old Testament; the Old Testament servants hand over to the adopted sons of the New Testament; the adopted sons of the New Testament hand over to the sons of God, the fruiting of the Spoken Word, the Original Seed. There they go, like a mighty river, unstoppable!

What? The Word planted in Genesis hands over to the Old Testament; the Old Testament hands over to the New Testament; and the New Testament hands over to the dispensation of the fullness of time... there they go, fruiting, maturing, ripening, tripping with divine love, unto the harvest. Every one of them in the harvest is exactly like the Seed that was planted. Yes, the Spoken Word is the Original Seed!

And here is what Branham the Baptist says about the ripened fruit:

I remember Moses. Those people constantly aggravated him–kept him on the move. Everything was a murmur, or complaint and so forth. But when it came to the showdown, when God said, “Separate yourself from them, because I am going to take you and start another nation,” Moses threw his self in the path of God’s wrath, said, “Take me, and not the people,” whom he had called rebels (because of their rebellion against God and against him) yet he loved them so much till he said, “Take me and save them.” That was Christ in Moses.

And if a man, no matter how much some other one would disagree with him, if he does not feel that way, not from his lips but in heart, then there is a lacking of Christ, I believe, if he does not feel that way towards humanity.

I was astonished one time; there was a Chicago meeting, and a coloured man was there; he kept saying, “I want to see Doctor Branham.” He had a great big hat on and great big crosses, eight or ten inches long and wide, across his chest, and robes; dressed very strange with funny rings and beads and so forth. And I told Brother Baxter, which was my associate, “Bring him on in the room; I will see him.” And he set down to me and he said, “Shall I regard you as ‘Father,’ or as ‘Reverend,’ or as ‘Elder,’ or what would you want me to regard you as?”

I said, “If you love me, call me Brother.” And he, in respects, did so; and gave me his title, which, oh, I could take a few lines to write across the paper the name of the church, and his title in the church.

But he said one thing that has always stuck with me. He said, “I am interested in this, Brother Branham, I is interested in one race, that is the human race.”

I said, “There we will shake hands.” The human race to everybody, to every creed, to every colour, and to every person that Christ died for, that is my interest this morning. And I have tried to always make it my interest.

I believe you will know better after I get finished, if God will help me to give it to you the way it was given to me; then after the service, you will understand, I hope.

Now, let us turn to the Scriptures. I am going to start in Genesis, and I will wind up tonight in Revelation. I believe the Word.

Genesis, beginning with the 1st chapter, I wish to read a portion of the Word.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. [In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.]

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. [All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.]

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. [In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.]

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herbs yielding seed after his kind, and the trees yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.

Now, my text is this: “The Spoken Word Is the Original Seed.” Now, if you will notice, God said, “Let it bring forth of his kind.” Whatever it was it must be brought forth of its kind.

Now, this Word of God is eternal. God, being infinite, cannot speak one thing and then later on change it to something else, to a better decision, because every decision of God is perfect. His Word, once spoken, can never die. It lives on and can never die, because It is God. His Word can no more die than He can die. That is the reason we read in Saint John, 1st chapter, that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh.” The same Word that was spoken in the beginning with His eternal purpose came on over and was made flesh and dwelt among us: God’s Word.

Hallelujah! God is the Word! Only God can speak His Word, and has been speaking from the beginning, and He is still speaking today! Those who claim that God cannot speak His Word today should be ashamed of themselves, in the light of this text. What? God is the Word and the Word is God. Everything about God is the Word. And God does nothing outside what He does by His Word.

If God is to do anything today in this world, He sends His Word. And there is that which God is doing today, and He is doing it by His Word... He is not repeating what He did through any man in the past! He does not repeat Himself. He is doing a new work by His Word... that which He never spoke in the past. Are you speaking this year the words you spoke last year? No! Neither is God speaking this day what He spoke through Branham. He has more to speak concerning you! Hearken!

Every expression of God is the Word, for speaking means expressing the mind. And you don't express your mind only through your mouth, but by your hands, head, hands, fingers, legs, eyes, shoulders, ears, nose, eyebrows, your breath, your laughter, your, acts, your conduct, your labour, your works, your ways, your desires, your feelings... everything that you express is your word, which is your burden.

And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God. Jer 23:36

All about you is your word, and that is your works, ways, conduct, actions, expressions, the way you are and the way you live, and all that is a burden, a yoke quite heavy to bear. But God's Word is light (noun), which is so light (adjective).

All that you are, manifests your thoughts, and to speak is to manifest ones thoughts... to reveal one's mind; to make known what is in your heart. And as a man thinketh in his heart so he is! So, man is his own thoughts expressed! Yea, he is his own word. So is God! For as God thinketh in His heart, so He is... and a thought expressed is a word. So, God is what He thinks in His heart. That means His thoughts expressed manifest what is seen and known of Him. Hallelujah! There is the Word of God! All about God!

So, as God is His own thoughts expressed, so He spoke the fullness of what He was in His heart, and the same brought forth another one like Himself... One who is exactly like Himself. And the same was the first begotten of God... a man that is God's fellow:

And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little onesZec 13:6-7

There is the Word who was in the beginning with God. God brought forth another one like himself. He begot a Son in His own image after His likeness and called Him the Word. For as His Father is the Word, so is he!

What is the spoken Word, the same which is the Original seed! It is the same who was in the beginning with God: in the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God. That is the original seed from which all things come from. As God is the Word, and His first begotten also the Word, so every other child of God has to be the Word, for he is born of Him who is the Word, by His Seed which is as much Word as Himself. Praise the Lord!

Some years ago, I heard that a woman accidentally licked radium while mixing it to put on hands and dials of clocks and watches; it killed her. They kept her skull for an autopsy. They said years later, that using some instrument against the skull, and with a rumble, you could still hear that radium going on in her skull after she had been dead years. Radium continually goes on.

The Word of God continually goes on too. I am told that if we could develop a special instrument, my voice that I speak today could still be picked up in the air ten thousand years from now. It is like dropping a pebble in the middle of a pond. And the tiny little waves after they fail to be seen by the eye, continue on till they hit the bank. And the air-wave of our voices continually travel around and around the world; therefore, then our voice, what we say will be our judgment. Our testimony will rise right against us. Our own voices will echo in our own ears at the judgment bar of God when His great Instrument catches every voice that has been spoken–every word that has been muttered.

There you are! As you are, so you speak, and as you speak by your expressions, acts, ways and behavior, so you are. So, you will be judged by your own words, not only spoken through your mouth, but through every action and expression of yourself. Look at that woman dressed immorally walking down the street, showing every part of her body outline to all around... she is speaking what is in her heart! That behavior is her word, spoken by her acts, and that is what defiles a man. Not what goes in him, but what comes out of him. And everything that comes out of him is his word being spoken... Quite a burden to him!

Yet we praise the Lord, for He sent His only begotten Son to deliver us from all our burdens, and as he took upon himself the cross and died on it, that means he took upon himself our word or words, and destroyed them upon the cross... that heavy handwriting upon you, he nailed it upon the cross, that you henceforth should not think or express such burdens. Instead, he calls you to draw near to him and take upon you his yoke to learn of him, for his burden is light, and his yoke easy!

Rest from all your words! They are heavy loads upon you! Take upon you the Word of God, Jesus Christ, and you will be free from all cares of life; from all burdens of the world; from all heavy loads of sin.

If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken itIsaiah 58:13  In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. Isa 59:13

Cease from speaking (expressing) the imagination of the falsehood of your hearts! Be crucified from your own words which are a rebellion from God. Instead receive God's Word in your season of life, conceiving it in your heart, to speak and express righteousness and holiness from your heart. Then shall rivers of water of life flow from your heart.

There is only one way to stop that wrong voice; that is repent. God alone can stop it. If it does not, it goes on and meets up with you in the eternity. Therefore, God being perfect and His Voice eternal, His own Voice will have to catch up with it. Therefore, He must be perfect in every decision. For when He once says something, it has to go all the way and come back to the Judgment.

Now, if you will try to really understand, you will see why I have always taken the kind of stand for the Word of God; all other things must perish; God is eternal, and His Word is eternal. Now, as you study, you must know that this Bible is God’s Word.

Now, we know that we are coming to a Judgment; the Voice of God is going to catch up with us somewhere, because it was given to every mortal to hear. Ministers are responsible for taking it, and if this Voice of God has to catch up with every person, you have got to hear it either here or at the Judgment bar. So, if the church has the Voice of God, then you must hear the voice of the church as our Roman Catholic people tell us. Yet they, in themselves, are so confused in their doctrines (the Roman, the Greek and their different types), then there cannot be any place to have faith because which one is the church when there is so much difference in them?

But to my opinion the Voice of God is the Judge. And if it is so perfect, it has to come from some perfect Source; and if men bring it one way or another with their difference of denominations, then there is no way to set faith, surely, in what they are saying.

As the denominations are so many and differ from one another so that the whole thing has become a confusion, so is the Branham believers church today. She is divided into thousands of groups scattered around the world, each claiming to hold the exact meaning of the message. That is an obvious sign that none of them has the truth, because only God has the truth anyway.

As so many Christian denominations claim the Bible, yet they are all false, being led by false interpretations of the scriptures, so are all the groups that claim Branham today. None of them has the truth that Branham stood for, none of them has the Word of God today, and that is why God does not confirm any of them. For God’s mouth is His Spirit. He is represented by His Spirit, not some church claiming some messenger.

The only answer out of such a mess is to look beyond Branham for that which was to follow after him, for God is never stagnant, He is never a history; for all that is based on history is as dead as the history they claim. The Spirit of God has proceeded on with what was to follow after Branham, things which were pointed to not only by Branham but by the scriptures. The Holy Spirit is the only revealer of the mysteries of God concerning any season. It is the Holy Spirit who revealed to Branham the word he preached; it is the same Spirit that reveals to us today that which God is fulfilling.

1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. Branham followers would want to read the above scripture thus: But God has revealed them unto us by His prophet of Malachi 4, for the prophet searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.”

That is why they have wound up into dead religious camps knowing nothing about what God promised to fulfil today just like all denominations. Instead of seeing God, they see Branham. Instead of believing Jesus, they believe Branham.]

When you take this written Word to our brethren, many of them say, “Well, those days are no longer.”

Exactly what those who claim to follow Branham say today! When you take them back to the scriptures and show them what God promised for this hour, they says, “The days of revelation are over. There are no more prophets!” Yet you are pointing them to the plain scriptural promises such as Zachariah 3 concerning Joshua the end time leader, Isaiah 30:26 about the day whose light will be sevenfold, like the light of seven days in one, that is the day of the Lord. And many other scriptures like Rev 10:1-6.]

Another one says, “It is just a history.” The other one says, “It is a book of poems.” The other says, “The church has a right to change it.” Then where do we stand? Where is the resting place for faith?

I believe if we are to be judged by anything, it will be by the Word of God which has given the commission; then if we are to be judged by that Word, then God would be unjust to put such a confusion on earth, and the poor human mind so baffled, it does not know what to do. But if God is going to judge the world by something, it will be by His Word. I believe that.

And now, my brethren I wish you would bear with me awhile and think of that, that there has got to be some place to come for judgment. Then some of them say, “The King James Version” or the certain other version.

I believe if God is the sovereign eternal One, He has to see to it; it is up to Him. If I want to go to Heaven to His Place, it is up to Him to furnish me a place that I can lay my hand and say, “This is it.” Do you agree with that? It is up to Him. Otherwise, He would be unjust.

Exactly the same dilemma among Branham followers… we have so many interpreters of that message, each claiming to have the truth, then the poor believer is there in the middle of all this confusion wondering who is who. God is responsible to give the blueprint! God always confirms His Word. If somebody claims to have the truth for this hour, let God confirm it. Only what God confirms is the truth! God confirmed Moses, He confirmed David, He confirmed Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, John the Baptist, Peter, Paul, Luther, Wesley, Branham. Today, we will know who is saying the truth by the hand of God confirming the same! No matter how eloquent one’s exposition is, we will not believe it until God confirms it! And when God has confirmed it, then you are duty bound to believe it, no matter how simple, no matter how contrary it is to your theology!

I remember in early 1994, just after the outpouring of the Spirit, inspiration struck me and I said, “the revival is over.” Every minister in the revival group was on my neck crying for my blood. They claimed the revival was just beginning. That what we had witnessed was only mere droplets, but that it was going to go higher and higher into torrents. I sat back and thought, “Alright, let us wait and see.” I have waited to see the torrents to date. The whole camp became drier than it was before the revival, yet none of them ever owned up to have spoken lies in the name of the Lord. They cried after my blood then, but when the going became hard, they ducked their head and went silent. Whose word then was confirmed?

You have got to have a resting place for Faith somewhere. I do not know how you feel about it, but to me the Bible is the infallible Word of God. And I believe that God has watched over His Word that there is no punctuation out of place.

Mainstream Branham message churches have changed the above statement to read: “… but to me the prophet forerunner is the infallible Word of God…” Oh, the devil can be sly. The Bible remains the infallible Word of God, not Branham Message. If you claim Branham message to be infallible, what of Luther’s message then? What of Wesley’s message then? For they were also messengers of God. You follow such a doctrine you drop off headlong. But I believe just like Branham believed: … to me the Bible is the infallible Word of God. Anything that goes against that is a lie no matter who says it! No matter where you quote it from!
